Hi i'm new here, here is my new diezel herbie which i am very proud of!!!

using it in conjunction with everything in my old rig:

Basically my problem is the diezel's 7 pin phantom power only semi powers the all access, it lights up the buttons but not the display. It’s not a problem with the cable as I was using it only the other day directly from the replifex (with phantom power). It’s not the all access as I run a 9v adaptor into it and the display works fine. why isn’t the herbert not giving the all access enough juice to run it in its entirety?

2ndly, I am getting a weird drop and rise in volume every few seconds when running the replifex through the switchable effects loop. its not the replifex as I was using it the other day no problems, and its not the cables as I was running my pod through the loop today just for some reverb and delay on the cleans and no dips/rises in volume - basically I’m sure I’ve set something up on the replifex which was appropriate for my other rig configuration but not for the herbert. what am i doing wrong as i've tried everything i can think of

finally - is there a quick guide somewhere so i can set up my all access to use the instant access switches to switch between channels and functions on the herbert? i can't seem to get my head around it going between both manuals

thanks for your help!!

I have the same problem. I just use my patch mate for phantom power then use the midi out/thru from the patch mate to the herbert.

the herbert only responds to program change signals, not CC. Using CC is not possible as far as I know.

Do you have another 7 pin MIDI input on another piece of MIDI gear? You can always connect to that piece of gear(if it gets you a better power supply) and then go from the "THRU" of that device to the "IN" of the Herbert....
Just a thought and it is how I got over the same issue

ps Diezel MIDI programming doesn't support Continuous Control. I have asked the same question to Peter Diezel....

yeah thats what i've been doing. its a pain and is going to take up another 9v AC on my pedal power AC, so is leaving no room for expansion for when i want another AC powered unit. NOT good

so whats with the diezel why can't it power midi controllers when thats exactly what the 7 pin is for...?

thats a real shame. oh well i'll just have to deal with it! disappointing though. i wonder if they'll be a software update at some point?

It powers the Columbus, and loads of other boards, just fine and let's you switch channels and presets from loop-stuff with one push of a button...maybe there's something wrong with yours - the device that is...

Rocktron makes a special cable/adapter to correctly power the All Access which demands an unusually high amount of current!
