sooner or later (o.k. - sooner!) i need a case for herbie, and i found this one at a shop:
https://www.thomann.de/at/skb_720.htm

my question is: does the amp/the tubes/whatever can get damaged if its transported not vertical all the time but slanted instead resp. like this case offers rolled on the ground? the diezel looks (and weighs) as if its built like a tank so i quess it can take a little bit of vibrations...

yeah, looks like an ugly spaceship or something...

it was just about the comfort of the trolli-style...but i htink i'll buy the standard anyway..

The trolly thing is cool as hell. Get the 130 € case and install castors like on the Thomann thing. Don't care too much about Herbert - it survives a nuclear war

thats what i was just thinking! my back would be gratefull if i do not have to carry 40kgs every time.

  i suggested so...but you know - its brandnew and i think i'm almost like a paranoid father with his baby: "don't come close, it needs air to breathe! don't touch, it could get the smell of your fingers! ...." :D

Thanks! The way the case works is similar to a rack essentially. There's a removable front and back cover. I haven't had any problems with it getting to hot. Definitely makes transport and setup much easier.

... easy to set up, looks great: ...downside; very heavy and really big... :scared:

Yeah very heavy. About 100 lbs actually

I've got a Warwick case, no castors, internal dimensions 32 x 76 x 30. Not sure if it fits a Herbie. It was cheaper by about 30 euros then a custom built case. Not sure that it's quite as heavy duty, though.

Live in cases and road trunks cost quite a bit more.

As a note it shouldn't matter which way tubes are facing when transported, just no major bangs/shocks and make sure they have a chance to cool first....
