Herbert and the G-System

Hi all, im new to the Diezel Family. Just picked up a herbert and it absolutly kills. Now that i have it i was going to buy a midi switcher. I liked the rocktron ones but they are expensive and i could pretty much score a g system for the same amount. So im wondering what the consensus is on the g-system through the herbert is. Ive heard both good and bad and seems to be most of the bad things ive heard are because of user error. If any one has tried this setup and you have any comments or advice on it id love to hear what you have to say. Thanks in advance.
