it sounds good, but for some reason I ALWAYS think it lacks gain. Maybe I should not waiting for dirty stuff.

I think the bass drum is just a lil too loud (maybe it's my sub   )

Yea, I don't like a lot of gain, I doubt you'll be hearing clips with a lot of gain from me. :)

As for the drums, I need a whole new drum sound. When will that happen?!!

No GAIN - No PAIN :checkthisout:

Which clip are we supposed to listen to? The first one? Sounds good to me! I think the amount of gain is just fine.

Now that's what I'm talking about!!! I never wanted to say anything about it before but I always thought your other heavy clips while still good were kinda nasal to me, this is pretty damn good though! Always love you mid gain and clean tone stuff though, so you know.

As of now it's the second one.

Hopefully someday I'll mic it up in a decent room & then we'll talk. :D I'm not happy with what's up there, honestly.

Nice!

What output tubes are you running?

Roid

2 6550s & 4 E34Ls

I thought so :D I just tried 4 6550 =C='s, and 2 EL34BHT's But went back to 6 6550's It sounded a little bright

I didn't give it a fair chance though... Have to try it again... What do you think that combo affords you? Don't you lose bottom end w/o the other 6550's?

Thanks,

Roid

That sounds great man
I've always thought that the sound just gets flat and muddy with too much gain. I think it's perfect the way you've adjusted the gain setting

As far as I know e34ls have more bottom end than el34s, that said for me the Herbert has enough bottom end with el34s too. The only reason I put the pair of 6550s in there was because they were right next to me & I didn't have to open & unwrap another pair of e34ls. Yea, I'm THAT lazy!
