Hello
I've got this loud clicking / pop sound when switching from CH2 or CH3 to CH1 via MIDI. This happens while I play the guitar and I switch the channels. If I don't play the guitar and I switch the channels there's no pop.
I have no fx hooked up.
The amp is the latest version.
Any idea as to why this happens and how it can be fixed?
Any help is appreciated.

This problem occurs when you use the channel switches as well with no MIDI or any devices hooked up.

Thanks

PS. The Herbert RULES and rocks hard like no other!

Hi Peter!
It's 6xx.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to fix it without shipping it back and forth. I live in Canada and shipping to Uwe will be killer!

THANKS

I sent you the info.
Didn't hear back from you. Did you get my email?

Peter
Thanks for the chip! I got it today and I just installed it. Unfortunately the problem is not solved. I just emailed you an mp3 so you can hear the problem. I'm just using the amp switches. No MIDI or other devices hooked up. When I turn down the volume (below half) on my guitar or when I don't play there is no pop while switching. Looks like it's sensible how loud the guitar is.

I'm using Seymour Duncans and it happens on all my guitars (PRSs).

After more troubleshooting: it looks like the more gain I have on CH2 and CH3 the louder the pop is when switching to CH1. I would have to turn the gain down almost NOTHING to get away from this which is not a solution. This probably explains why it doesn't pop when my guitar volume knob is turned down.

Also the pop happens when the volume on CH1 is turned down all the way (off) - VERY STRANGE!

I'm hoping all this info helps find the solution.

Could it be the relay for CH1 switching? A capacitor for that channel? Or what else? My old VH4 had 2 relays that were iffy and once I replaced them the amp ran smooth.

Help Peter?

Nevermind I got it! It was in my spam box... Reply sent!
Thanks Peter!

My Herbert started making the popping sound your describing, when switching to channel 1. Have you solved the problem? If so what fixed it?
