Nbarts, it's how herbie should sound. BIG even with low gain
is it just double tracked, or quad? maybe you could do some test about that too

Edit: don't stop to make clips, I listen to them alot

Yes, double tracked. I'll quad track sometime; I've done it before, I personally prefer the tighter feel of double tracked recordings.

Nicely done! I only recently got an MD421 as well. Great mic.....still experimenting with it.
I like the crisp sound with your recording on this one.
