as many of you already know, Billy plays Diezel amps too, so here's a cool pic

Enjoy!

i know he was one of the first BIGS that joined the Diezel family, before Metallica. am i right?

then to Peter - how did he approach to Diezel amps? did he contact you or he just bought one?

last question, do you know if he had request a modded version on his amps?
some of his marshall jcm 800 were retubed with KT88's to get a big and rounder sound...
so just wondering if it is stock or twaked :)

thanx!

That were rather Adam Jones, Korn and James Hetfield as far as I know.

try to watch the live at Rock Am Ring 2007 :)

you can recognize the little Herbert :P

Yeah well, watch the DVD that came with St. Anger...James + VH4, and that was 2003. :)

wait :)
i remember i read Billy used to play Diezel long time before. this surely before 2003. really years before. now he use them on stage too.

I was thinking Billy played a VH4 at one point.

Adam Jones was a very early adopter methinks.

billy has been using diezels since at least the machina album which came out in february of 2000. he used two vh4 amps, and used a vh4 for zwan. now he uses the herbert for zeitgeist and live (i also heard he bought an einstein at the time he got the herbert but not positive about that). about the herbert billy says that it's one of the best amps he's ever played and used it a lot on the new record. i have a vh4, but lately have been clamoring for a herbert or eini myself.

Diezel doesn't do any kind of endorsement, so, yes he might have actually bought it ;)

Adam Jones was the first well known American Diezel user. His old VH4 was on ebay not long ago. It was signed by Peter and it said something to the effect of "To Adam - my first US customer"

The first time I saw the Diezel moniker on a record was around 1994 when they put out the 'Master of the Rings' record. I don't know if it was Weikath or Grapow who used them.

Why would the Adam Jones sell a Amp that he uses all the time???

Was it broken?? Was he low on cash$$?

I don't think so....

No... that sale was pulled very quickly as it was a scam.

He's used the VH4 for years, I *think* that Aenima was recorded with it.

^the auction may have been a scam, but were the pics of the amp real - meaning actual pictures of Adams amp?

how did you find out it was a scam? i saved the pictures b/c i thought it was real. lol. i wanted to copy his settings to see what they sounded like. oh well. :aww:

The amp was real. But, Adam no longer owns it. I don't know if the auction was fake or not. But, I've seen that amp for sale in the past.

Aenema was recorded with VH-4 and Marshall Superbass.

Adam has a blue face and a silver face VH-4. He uses one for backup on stage.
