There are several reasons that I finally pulled the trigger on a Herbie. First, just had to have one because Diezel feckin rules and the combination of the VH4 and Herbie will cover it all. Second, I am cleaning up the pedalboard and thinking of going back to rack FX and MIDI control. So, I dusted off the Eventide Eclipse and did some FX loop testing on my amps the other day. Diezel's by far have the best FX loop of any amp I own and I suspect better than most, if not all production amplifiers made today. I like the tone in my Elmwood M90, but the FX sucks ass. I absolutely favor the scooped growl in my Uberschall, but Bogner missed the boat on the FX loop too. Pulled the VH4 out of the road case and tested the Eclipse through the channel inserts and in the parallel loop. Without a doubt, the Diezel FX loop just cannot be beat.
