Gat Damn! What a great feature. My drummer tells me tonight how great the Diezel sounds to him. Coming from a drummer that is a huge compliment!
I can't get over how cool the mid cut is! I run the intensity around noon and it is pure metal. I sometimes sway to the right of noon at times, depending on my mood. The tweakabilty of all the controls = fantastic. Love the Herbert more each day. :inlove:

Anyone who sells a Herbert needs to have their head checked. :loco:

The mid cut feature is so simple, yet so ingenious. With your UL or my CLX, we can sit there for quite some time trying to dial in a mid heavy or scooped sound using the 6 band. With the Herbert it's just so damn simple and effective. You can go from mid bark to scooped metal in 1 second.

On my Herbert I prefer to run the mids pretty strong on channel 2&3, about 2 o'clock, and scoop it fairly aggressively with the mid cut at about 2 o'clock or so also.

I think thats the best way. I tried almost any position.
But i reduced the bass and the deep nearly to the max and cranked the treb and presence to 3 o´clock.
The standalone sound of these settings is not so sexy but it´s heavy cutting in the band mix!
My mid cut is at noon and level at 2 oc. The ch. mid at 1 oc.

It´s really great!
But now you can hear every single mistake, scratch and so on. But its awesome!!!

Yeah, I'm learning new stuff about this amp everyday. I run my mids around 2-3 o'clock as well. I don't get too crazy with the treble maybe around 11. My presence is around noon or a little less. The controls actually do something on the Herbert unlike a lot of other high gainers I have tried.
Anyone who says a Herbert doesn't cut in a mix is an idiot. :gethim:

You are right about the VHT's, they just can't get to the level of metal that the Herbie can. They are still great amps but
Diezel has won me over.

Love the Midcut function. Dont use it too much anymore but whenever i need it..its there. Also a neat trick i learned was run the intensity really low & push the level...does something quite unique..cant really explain it but sounds really awesome! :D

I have my mids at ~2-3 o'clock, and the midcut intensity at ~10 o clock. Treble rather low (~ 11), presence changes from guitar to guitar. Mostly round 1 o clock.

Never had cutting-issues.

Wow Pauly! Have to give that a try. Thanks.

Yeah, I have heard people say they can't get a Herbert to cut. It's obivious to me now they don't have a clue what they are doing.

This is hands-down the best-sounding amp I have ever owned, and I have some true winners (Splawn, Hughes & Kettner, Mesa).

That is a bold statement man! No question about it, the Herbert is one of the best high gainers out there.
