Herbert Mid Cut Question

Thats up to you. I leave mine on all the time just no up very much.

What I mean is how much Treble or Sizzle does the Mid Cut add when engaged.
Does it act as a Mega Treble booster on your Herbert's ?

It does add some treble when you turn the intensity up about 3/4 the way.

But really its scooping the mids out so I guess you get more treble because of no mids.

Treble boost No

Hell I run my treble on 1 or 2 oclock and thats plenty of treble for me

^^ This.

I get no real treble boost either. It's definitely different from simply scooping the mids with the eq but the effect is similar.

The mid-cut does boost the volume, while cutting certain mid-frequencies, so it may be perceived as boosting the high end and low end to some degree.

But it does not sound as if some one plugged an old fashioned treble boost pedal in thru the front.

It is a pretty big difference from running the channel with no mid cut. Ch. 2 and Ch. 3 are
really smooth. When the mid cut is engaged, I hear fuzz on Ch. 3 that is nearly impossible to dial out.

For reference I have tried it with NOS SED EL34 and SED 6550 through a Mesa Slant with Vintage 30's.
Same fuzziness on 3 with the mid cut.

When you turn on the Mid Cut it should help clean up the tone some. When I kick mine on it really makes the gain very clean and clear. Without it and it sounds more like there is blanket over the cab and the gain is fizzier.
