Herbert Midi Thru Problem

Hi, I have a Rolls Midibuddy footswitch and a G-Major that I want to use with the Herbert but I have some problems setting it up.
The way I'd like to have it is Midibuddy Midi Out -> Herbert Midi In and Herbert Midi Thru -> G-Major Midi In. I'm a complete Midi and FX noob so I'm probably overseeing something but I can't get it to work.

I have all three devices set to Midi Channel 1 and I can control the Herbert just fine with the Midibuddy and when I connect the Footswitch directly to the G-Major I can change Presets alright. So it seems to be a problem with the Midi Thru functionality. I checked the Herbert manual and it states:

MIDI Thru
This jack routes the midi signal to other midi partners. MIDI data not addressed to
the Herbert gets looped through this jack.

Does this mean only Midi data on channels other than the one assigned to the Herbert gets forwarded or do I have another problem?

On the G-Major yes, not on the Herbert though. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks for suggesting this, it's one of the things I haven't tried yet ;)

Lebkuchen for Christmas if I'm right. :D

Seems to be a problem with my Herbert :aww:
I contacted Peter and he said that it should work the way I set it up. For now I have the G-Major as Master forwarding the signal to the Herbert. Works fine but as the G-Major does not provide Phantom Power I need to power the footswitch with a wall wart.
Luckily Diezel support is the best there is, so I'm positive that Peter will fix it, I just have to get an appointment and find the time to drive to Bad Steben.

Have you tried to reset the Herbert to Ch. 1 ? Make sure the ribbon cable is plugged in from the back board too.
If the amp accepts midi and you can channel switch, it's more likely the G-Major or the Herbert is not on Ch. 1.

I tried various channels including omni mode on all devices. It just looks like the Herbert puts out nothing on the Midi Thru. The G-Major works all fine when I connect the footswitch directly so I doubt it's a G-Major problem.
What's that ribbon cable you mentioned? I haven't opened the amp and I won't do so unless instructed by Peter but if there is a cable that is responsible for the Midi Thru only that might be it. If the cable connects both Midi jacks though I doubt thats the problem as channel switching works flawlessly...
