Herbert Power Tubes/Channels

I was wondering, do the 3 power tube pairs in the Herbert correspond to each of the 3 channels?

so would...

Pair A (Power tube 3 & 4) = Channel 1
Pair B (Power tube 2 & 5) = Channel 2
Pair C (Power tube 1 & 6) = Channel 3

Hmm,

then all of the power tubes are utilized by all the channels? I want to experiment using different types of tubes for each pair and was wondering what I could expect when having different types of tubes in the 3 pairs.
