Howdy all..

Im recording on Saturday with my new band and was looking for advice on loops and the midi connections at the rear of the Herbert. I've only just started toying around with them so feel free to speak as dumb as you like

I intend to use my digitech whammy on Saturday and would like to know if anyone uses the midi connection at the rear with the whammy? Will this make a difference to the sound quality or will it just be a tool for changing patches on the whammy with my Columbus? Is that actually possible? I am getting a midi lead tomorrow so I can play around with it then.

I've read the other posts here concerning loops with the Herbert. Im wondering is it possible to use more than one loop as there is only one loop button on the front panel and does not indicate which loop is being saved. Is it possible to store for example serial w/ ch1 via the midi pedal and parallel w/ ch2 etc etc.. I ask this mainly for live settings.

I use my original whammy through the front with things like wah pedals and my boss tuner and any distortions.

I use the serial pool for all my delay and choruses and phase
shift pedals. those kind of effects. Its very straight forward and it all works perfectly. i use a behriger fcb1010 midi floor board to change between channels. All you need is 1 midi cable from the midi in behind the amp to the floor board midi out. it will then work automatically. Thats it.

Some of the other cats here have more complex set ups so i am sure you will here from them too. :duck:

ooops I mean't loop not pool :barf:

Thanks for that bud.. Unfortunately my whammy is at digitech being fixed at the mo so I havent had the chance to use it with the Herbert. Im borrowing one 2moro so we'll see. I find my wah wah hasnt as much swing eqwise through the front. Mind you, Ive never been happy with the original dunlop wah wah. Think I might go for something new with a bit more edge..
