Herbert Switching...

Hey there!

Thinking about buying a Herbert. Before i do that i need to know one thing:

Is it possible to switch the Herbert with the Carl Martin Combinator II ?

The combinator has 3 switches and reading the manual of the Herbert, it can be switched with a XLR Cable, right?

So technically the switching should be something like this:

1st pin on - Channel 1 engaged
2nd pin on - Channel 2 engaged
both pins on - Channel 3 engaged

So i'm thinking i might be able to use 2 of the Combinator switches to switch the Herbert...

What do you guys think? Anyone got any experience doing stuff like that???

Thanks so far!

Oh, and just to answer the question in advance:
I don't want to carry a rack and love having my effect-pedals right at my feet so i can tweak them if i want to - that is why i'm not using MIDI... ;-)

Hi there mate,

I'm afraid I can't help you with the Combinator XLR switching idea, but if that isn't possible, you might want to check out the GigRig pedalboards. They have midi switching, but are designed to do away with a rack by having switchable true-bypass loops built-in to put your pedals in. If I wasn't going down the rack route, that would be my choice. Quite expensive, but might be worth a look: http://www.thegigrig.com.
