I spent about two hours today on Channel 3, mid cut on. The previous session I left Ch. 2 on -. While I was playing
on Ch. 3 still, I flipped the switch to + and it changed the tone on channel 3. It was a bit tighter and brighter in - and
a bit fuller and rounder in +. I had no idea that this interaction could happen, or am i going nuts ?

Anyone who cares to comment, please do. I'd like to know if I need therapy ASAP. :)

Please tell me this is a HUGE problem and it makes you dislike the Herbert and question its quality and ability. Please.

  You know.....as well as I do....that this is the ULTIMATE METAL AMP!!
And yes.....we dont 'want' one....we NEED ONE!!

Oi !!! Derailed !!!!

Get your own Herbert to explore. I have no pity for those who don't already own both VH4 and Herbert. :D

Sadly, it's not a problem but an observance. It may come into use for those who record heavily with the amp.
It's just a bit tighter in the bottom end and has a extra bit of top end in - mode.

I hijacked my son to do the switching while I sat in the same spot for thirty minutes. Poor kid was gettin' Herbified.

i would say you are crazy just because i've never noticed this with mine, but idk? maybe i'll produce a kid and then i'll know what's truly up with the amp, sounds weird man, good luck,

Hi Papa,

Please don't remove the +/- switch. It makes life worth living.

The version is VA.

Spent another hour today. I am 100% sure of the difference. With the channel 3 volume at noon you can
hear the + and - switch coming in and out from the V1.

Nah seriously people could use the 2nd master ;)

You can't tell me that this has not intrigued anyone enough to try it ?

I can tell you that switching any setting on the Herbert or the Einstein had some minor effect on channels where it shouldn't, I've talked about this earlier. This has to have something to do with power distribution inside the amp, my theory is that the voltage my vary depending on the settings you have on or off and that may cause these minor differences. At the end of the day, these things aren't worth worrying about.

I'm not worrying. It's a useful, but subtle tone.
