I am interested to see other peoples settings, specially for Brutal Metal and Crystal Clean Sound, not interested in blues or rock or country or jazz or anything like that , just the two settings, could you please kindly post your settings . thanks so much , appreciate it. cheers. Ed

My must used settings only for the style you've asked and they depends mainly on guitar used

ch1:

treble 11 - 11,30
middle 12,30
bass 12

ch2 + with midcut, intensity 10,30 level 12

gain 2 - 3
treble 1
middle 12
bass 1

ch3 with midcut, intensity 11 level 1

gain 1 -1,30
treble 1,30
middle 12
bass 1,30

presence 1
deep 1

:)

Ch1:
treble: 2:00
middle: noon
bass: 12:30
Mid Cut: on

Ch2+:
Gain: dimed
volume: 1:00
treble: 3:00
middle:2:00
bass:11:30
mid cut: on

Ch3:
gain:2:00
volume: 1:00
treble: 3:00
middle: 2:00
bass: noon
mid cut: on

Mid Cut is always on for all channels, always. For me, it's what makes the Herbert sound so good.
Intensity: noon
level: 2:00

Presence: 11:30
Deep: 11:00-12:30, this is the only knob I change and it's changed depending on how bassy the current guitar being used is.

Granted I haven't had much time to fiddle with it yet since I just got it yesterday, but I fiddled with it for about an hour and found that all channels sound real nice with everything at noon. First amp ever that I've owned that sounded as good with everything set up that way. Gotta love this amp.

Will post back when I've had more time to fiddle around...

straight up on just about everything. Minor tweaks to the room. Sounds massive

Pretty much this, but I can't have the Master on 12 that often
Also gain varies with the guitar used. With my M-II (EMG85) I leave the gain a hair below 12 on 2+ and around 11 on 3, with my EC400(Duncan SH5) I go up to 2.30 on 2+ and 12.30 on 3.
Most of the time midcut is off but sometimes I enable it with intensity somewhere around 9 just for fun.

CH2- everything about noon, a little more mids & high end, gain 3:00, Master really loud, like 12:00. That's how I like to play the Herbert live.
CH1 all around noon, volume to taste & situation.

Enjoy! :D

clean:
ch1 with my pre gt-10 james hetfield live clean sound (jc100 with chorus and flanger -thanks pirre81!!)
treble 75%
middle 50%
bass 100%

crunch/rhythm:
ch2-/+
gain 75%
treble 66%
middle 50%
bass 33%

lead:
ch3 with delay (switchable send, parallel return)
gain 75%
treble 40%
middle 100%
bass 25%
midcut intensity 10%

presence 40%
deep 50%
el 34

additionally my herb is modded to have more mids around 800 - 1,4k overall, as well as more sizzle on ch3, less sizzle on ch2 and more edge on ch2.

its awesome!

but by the way, fiddling around with the eq is fun, but you don't get any changes in character, only when switching channels and engaging the midcut. nobody, not even yourself, would notice if during a show the eq-settings suddenly were changed (i am not talking about extrem changes like cutting an entire band), cause the contours are still the same. the playing style of a guitar-player is 100times more essential to his tone then his eq-settings. as well as getting a rock'n roll marshall or a country fender sound, depends more on how you play, then the eq.
still doesn't change the fact that its fun!
