I'm looking for a very heavy amp for drop tune stuff. I've played all the above but all in different settings, cabs etc, so I don't have a realistic idea of how they compare. The Einstein seemed warmer sounding then the Herbert but not as heavy. Any opinions? What's you're fav??? Thanks

I think it really depends. The VH4 is probably the tightest, the Herbert gets the heaviest and the Einstein is probably the most classic sounding. Really you should test them all with the same guitar/cab/cables to see what works best for you. I have an Einstein and I love it, but I don't often play the drop tuned heavy chugga-chugga type stuff. When I do though it sounds badass!

 Good luck.

I went and played them all yesterday (Herbert, VH4, Einstein). The Herbert blew me away, perfect for what I need. I really loved the Einstein too. Very warm and great cruch. I shot the Diezel's out against VHT Deliverence, VHT Pitbull, Krank, ENGL Powerball. I thought the Diezel's killed them all and were in a class by themselves.

My Einstein handles 7 strings to B/Drop A no problem but you're right... if you want a down tuned gain monster then the Herbert is pretty hard to beat! :D

I pick up my Herbert Wednesday. I have a Rectifier 4X12 cab with Vintage 30's, how's the Diezel cab compare? Or Bogner? Also, I know the guy just retubed it with Sed Winged C EL34's, he said it gave it a better crunch but he said the 6L6's are deeper sounding. What's up??? Thanks guys!
