I don't wanna sound like an ass, but that's ridiculous amount of equipment for what they do.

But hey, I'm not too far of it :D

that's in their new headquarter-studio...that's the reason of all those toys

it's not too much in my opinion at that level... it's not me at home haahahaha

they are the SP !!! :)

they chose between many possibilities. sounds are always to be found on the blend of more than a single click or knob turning.

apart that that's the equipment built up during many years... one time achivied the right sound, live they are sober than that :)

there are songs that are meant to ble played with a particular set up and might sound bad with other amps-guitar combination.
the gish album for example he ( billy ) always say it was written using the ada mp1 pre amp. he couldn't imagine it to be played in other ways.

am i a SP supporter?

YESHHHHHHHHHHHH :)

your neighbour Billy is a genious :)

Billy Corgan is definitely a musical genious.... he's in the Lenny Kravitz/Dave Mustain wagon, but at the same time, being THAT much of a control freak bugs me a bit.

I can definitely relate to him a bit since I'm a solo artist and I do EVERYTHING myself (lyrics/guitars/bass/program drums, keys, etc etc) and I find pleasure in that, but again, I'm a SOLO artist, not a BAND, like the smashing pumpkins were/are.......

anyways, I like playing with different toys, but I LOVE simplicity man.....I'm on the type of musicians that prefer to have the same sound in the album as in a live context. Never really like what some guitarist do (blend 3 or 4 amps to get a certain type of sound)

but hey, that's just me! :D

I also agree that I would do the samething. but i still love my herbie and billy is one of the reasons that i bought a Diezel herbert. I also have one of his signature strats on the way. I totally cant wait to hear how it sounds on the herbie.

mind sharing the Billy corga's strat specs? special pickups? neck??

that is his new stratocaster verison...different pick ups..hard tail. so different from the Born To Lose guitar.

his real signature would be the '57 reissue one with the 3 lace sensor pick ups ( red silver, blue ).

the new one has dimarzio pick ups.

all the fans know that to be the billy corgan strat; if you want the SP sound that's the way to go.

if you want to replicate the newest live sound otherwise the new strat is more indicated.

I also have 2 other strats with lace sensors. t know there are not 57's but still the sound pretty good.

i put just a fender red lace sensor on the bridge onmy american standard

:) one day i'll buy the neck one.

can anyone of you suggest me a soldering guide? i want to make a clearer job then my 1st time ;)

is it possible to clean and remove the tin in excess?

thanx

There are two ways: a solder removal pump which kind of sucks in the solder, and a stripe of copper which soaks up hot solder. The pump works better. It's pretty cheap, too. About 10-15 Euros here.

thanx.
what about the soldering machine?
which is the indicated for this kind of job
