I have a chance of getting a ocd quite cheap.

CHannel 2- with the fulltone, any experiance?

I tried that recently and must admit - i didnt like it at all. I prefer my Tubescreamer (have a TS7 moded to 808specs) all the way.

My OCD had to go since I play a Diezel.

It is a good pedal, one of the best I know and if you get one for a good price, check it out. It can boost your amp and it has a great crunchsound, you can always sell it again.

I like channel 2 plus and minus

I like to put the gain just before the sizzle, where there is less compression. I thought bye boosting it, it would give me more sustain and power what i want. Using more gain makes the tone more compressed and tinner.

Thanks for the input guys

I understand what you are saying and for some the gain cranked the OCD is nonsense. If you want to tame the gain and use a pedal that is your choice of course. The OCD would not be my first pick for the Herbert if being used on the gain channels. I would look at some of the excellent clean boosts out there. The OCD works great to take a clean channel into grit and get some Marshally sounds, but it just thins out a gain channel IMHO, YMMV

I just had an hour on channel 2-
Gain between 2&3 o'clock
Volume 2
Treble 1
Mid 11
Bass 1

Nice thick rythem/lead tone
I guess I'll have to use more off the master volume when possible.

Btw I'm playing back home again, no band @ the moment so it's off to quite use off the Herbert. I thought a boost could help but it's volume and moving air I need in a pedal ;)

You guys are right, I was trying yo find something that wasn't there. Non the less, great amp, couldnt live without it!!!

Thanks for saving me some cash

I don't find overdrive pedals to work with high gain master volume amps like Diezel, Elmwood, Soldano, etc. It just kinda mushes the sound up. It's a shame really because I have owned some of the most boutique and expensive overdrives, but never the right amp.

I think a simple boost works best, or a tubescreamer. It doesn't add too much compression or distortion. It simply tightens the tone and adds a touch of sustain. Of that's just my opinion on the matter. I bet the Schmidt will be a great platform for pedals!

I got my soldano decatone nr003 for sale, im planning to get THE schmidt, wel as soon after i played THE amp. THE clips i hear are amazing. Id like to have that clean and od channel, it should be à killer match with THE Herbert.

I just got el34bht through THE mail, hopefully i can install them tomorrow, maybe this Will do my setup better Justice than THE seds.

Ill see If i can demo à tube screemer for THE weekend

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaa, kinda in the same league here as Gutmann, of all my amps, my Diezel gets the least stomp action. A little DD and reverb in the loop, and fire the front end to the nines  I love the tone so much, just can't imagine sticking anything in front of it. BUT, owning both the OCD and the BB, I have tried the BB in front on Channel 2 as per Reza's recommendation and it was alright... Obviously still need some time to sort it out, or simply, to get bored with what's already stock under the hood of the VH4S :D

Now V, reverb, thats what i miss, just a tad. I used a rocktron expression but i gave that to my brother. Since the diezel i dont use that much effects. With a clean channel like this i just didnt want chorus on that. For effects i onlly used, echo, delay, chorus, reverb. A effects unit is easy but the pedals have something that just cant be beat. I use a boss dd-7 in the loop, thats it.

Whats a good reverb unit you guys can reccomend? just make the amp a tad wetter. the rocktrons reverb was not to my liking.

Do you want a stomp box, rack unit or multi effects board? The Line6 M9/M13 are awesome for almost anything except distortion. The compressors are not great either, but everything else is stellar.

The Dr. Scientist Radical Red Reverberator is probably my favourite reverb stomp box, along with a Malekko Spring Chicken Deluxe. They aren't cheap, but are certainly worth it. The Dr. Scientist is a lot more versatile, as is the Strymon BlueSky Reverb.

Hands down for me it's the EHX Cathedral Stereo Reverb.
Period.

2 best stomp boxes I've had, TRex roomate (warms overall sound up a bit) and what I use now, Strymon Blue Sky which is in my opinion as good as many rack reverbs, just excellent with some really great features.

Van Amps Sole Mate reverb...

Or Wampler Faux Spring Reverb

Im in THE netherlands, il check wich one of these are available and give them à try. Im looking for à stompbox. Id like à g-system or g-force, but Those are on à whole other pricelevel.

Just get a holy Grail from Electro-Harmonix. Cheap and better than alot of amp reverbs. :)

it didnt work with my einstein either.

it sounded great with my jcm 800.

but the diezel doesnt need it. theres just no reason, the diezel distortion is the greatest sounding overdrive pedal on earth ;)
