Hi at all,

I've heard, that I could use my Pod xt live as Midi controller and, at the same time, as effect in the loop...
Does this work? And can you change things while playing with the controller (maybe safe an effect in midi)?
Because normally I use the Channel-Buttons for the controlling of the herbert.

If this works, that would be great! (Controller AND multi-effect in one for less than a Columbus - nice :D )

Cool.

Can you explain me how you do that?
For example I want to have a delay for channel 1 and a booster on channel 3 - what would I have to do?

And which effect loop do you use?

Thanx a lot :)

what booster? dont put boost/drive effects in the loop. only time based effects. i like series loop

The booster and the delay were examples for effects to use from the pod xt live while using it as a midi-controller.
I just can not image how this works...

Hi,

I think you have to use the 4-cable-method. I'm going to try it with my Pod X3 Live and my Vh-4... Well, in the next couple of days or next week...
I remember Sean did it (very similar) with the Boss GT-10. He told his experiences in some topics some time ago.
Even though you have to turn off all Amp/cab simulations there is still some minor coloring of your tone. From what I've heard, it is really just a little bit and you can still get the Diezel-Monster-Killer-Best-in-the-world-Sound with the effects of the Line6 unit (which I really like from my X3). But I still have to try it and hear it myself...

Another possibility is to just use the power section of your amp (by using the seriel loop return) and using your XT Live as a Peamp with your effects without the cab simulation.
