Here's my lesson on how to play "Run to You" by Bryan Adams. A really excellent tune that's not too hard to get down. Sometimes the simple stuff is the best but whether it's simple or complex doesn't really matter as much as how well you play it and how good you can make it sound right?
Keith Scott is such an under appreciated guitarist and was a huge part of BA's sound along with Mickey Curry and Dave Taylor who were an excellent rhythm section.

I hope you enjoy the video. cheers

Great lesson as usual. I actually hated seeing your gear write-up. Not a lot of the items get a ton of love around here and you make them sound absolutely killer. Way jealous (and much poorer, lol!)

Sounded great!

great song....I remember learning this one when it came out, summer of 69 too. Loved the tones

Hey bro, thanks for the nice words, I really appreciate it. Yeah, I don't know, I've never been a "gear slut" as they say. There's SO much BS about everything it's ridiculous!
I know I'm not the best player out there, and there's lots of stuff I need to work on, and a lot of stuff I can't do, but I have to say that guitar players should just practice more and stop obsessing on gear! I spend most of my time practicing with no amp, just trying to get it clean. Most of a guys sound is in how he plays, pick attack, vibrato, bending etc., so while it's always nice to have good equipment, it'll NEVER replace the hundreds of hours just sitting around practicing your guitar playing right?

shit-your inspiring me to pick up a guitar again. now i know why it never sounded right whenever i tried to learn it. fuckin capo's.

Ok so whats the secret to getting the Egnater sounding so good?? I have NEVER played the Renegade and it sound that good, and I really wanted to like it....may have to revisit that amp again...Thanks!

Sounds great! One of my favorite tunes and easily one of my all time favorite albums top to bottom.

NICE!!!

Another Keith Scott fan here. Always dug his phrasing and melodies.

Great work!

Yeah, great guitar sounds on the whole album. Used to play Kids Wanna Rock in bands and always enjoyed it, it's a great lick.

Yeah, putting a capo on my lester just felt wrong! I remember trying to figure this tune out years ago not knowing about the capo and using some pretty wacked out fingerings, it always sounded like shite! Once I realized it was a capo, it all made sense. Something about capos on electric guitars though that's just not very rock'n'roll, but whatever. cheers

Not sure how to answer that one, I love the Egnater, I can get almost any sound out of it. It's the best amp I've ever owned. I was always a Marshall guy when I played in bands, but the Egnater is like a better Marshall to me. I have Suhr Aldrich pickups and I think they really add to the sound, really nice warm sound, a little less high end bite, so I roll off almost all the bass on the amp and crank the mids and highs most of the time. cheers

Yeah Keith Scott is SO criminally underrated...

Yeah, I'm probably going to do a lesson on "It's Only Love", at least the intro solo. He plays some really nice stuff in there too.

Oh yeah! "Cuts like a knife" -- both the solo and the outro where he rips are greats too.

Am I the only one that thinks the part where the song fades and then the slightly gritty/chorused clean comes in to lead the song back in is one of the best clean tones ever recorded? Dunno exactly whats used on that part, sure sounds like a Rickenbacker though.
