I currently have a 4x12 with 16ohm speakers, which I plug into the 16 ohm out on my Einstein. I want to add a 2x12 to my rig, and would like to know if I should purchase 8 ohm or 16 ohm speakers, and how will I then want to plug in both of these cabs together? Will the imbalance of a 2x12 and a 4x12 even work together ok?

Thanks again \m/

Brian

You could buy either, Brian.
2x12 with 8 Ohm speakers would result a 16 Ohm cab. You would run both from the 8 Ohm (2x16) out. Both equally loud. Best solution.
2x12 with 16 Ohm speakers would result an 8 Ohm cab. Both cabs run off the 4 Ohm (2x8) out. The 2x12 cab would be louder compared to the 4x12 cab then. Second best solution.

What would be the best solution for running a 4 ohm 2x12 with a 8 ohm 4x12 ?

I don't think you can do that. Probably rewire the 2x12 to serial/16ohm.
