Hey Peter, is this true about the Herbert?

This was posted in the Bogner forum while folks were discussing the Uberschall Twin Jet...

I was just wondering if there was any truth to this at all?

Well the Herbert was inspired by the Uberschall...Peter Diezel heard one and wanted to make a similar amp and actually I've heard the changes in the design aren't huge...I wish I could recall what they were, but it had to with cutting bass in certain stages, etc.

Just my opinion, but it doesn't seem like Peter is the kind of guy to base new amps around existing ones from other brands. I've always had the impression just from the models Diezel have available at the moment, that he creates them from scratch.

i wouldn't think this would be true.

i don't see the similarities all that much. but someone must think so...or they wouldnt have posted that...

the similarities may be.... tight high gain? oh yes, must be a copy. :scared:

Sounds like someone was dreaming something up it their head and trying to pass it off as fact.

love those people.

;)

I hope not.

Absolutely hated the Uberschall, and have a Herbert coming this week

whoau!!
this is the craziest thing i´ve ever heard about the herbert and uberschalls...i had own several ubers and several herbies, and the bogner are good amps, but they are miles away from diezel...imo.

an uberschall is like a herbert put under the water at 10. ah! dont forget the amazing bogner midi advance system, the multichannels, the revolucionary midcut, the 3 loops, and you can put all the knobs at noon and sound perfect..... :D :D , please!!!

plus, in my personal experience people at bogner are the more hostile treatment with final customer...

i can write for hours....

diezel rules!!

That is complete nonsense! While the Uber is great amp, everyone knows that all Diezel circuits are copies of the Peavey XXX.

;)

In the brief experience I have had with calling Bogner a couple of times last week to ask some questions, I fully agree.
While I suppose i got my questions answered, they made me feel like I was bothering them, and seemed impatient to get me off the phone.

oh well.

Peter doesn't need any inspriation of any type from any amp or amp maker to come up with his own designs and ideas.

Whomever stated that Peter got inspriation from a Bogner for the Herbert, needs to come down off the acid and ego trip. It's just out-and-out B.S.

Maybe someone is just referring to the Gitarre&Bass Diezel Feature Story from 10/2005

(red box) :dunno:
