I've been using cools for about 3 years now. I still have a bunch of Jazz III's but I haven't touched one of those in ages! GREAT picks!

Dave gave me this 1.5 mm white one.

i may have to check those out...ive been using Tortex forever, and havent found a pick that sounds better yet. Tortex just has the pick attack that i like...switched to the Jazz Tortex a while ago and now i cant even try to play with a standard sized pick...i just cant do it!

where, oh where may i find these cool picks online? i have no stores near me worth anything! :)

I have been messing with the Cool Picks for quite a while now. I used the purple 1.14mm Dunlop Tortex's for 20 years. recently I switched to the green .88mm Tortex because it makes more of a clicking sound on the string when I pick fast and I like that. I have also been messing with the 1.0mm Cool Pick in a jazz size. I like it a lot and I think it comes off of the string quicker and smoother but I'm not convinced it sounds better than the Tortex. I'm still comparing them. I'm leaning toward the Cool Pick right now.

I'm really into the medium Dunlop gel pick, the purple one. I buy them by the bags.
They feel just the right thickness (around .88) and get a nice pick attack sound too, for some reason I can play fast really easily with them (maybe it's all in my mind)
Best thing is, when I'm sweating on stage they seem to still stick to my fingers nicely, I rarely drop them.
I'll have to try a cool pick sometime as well.

I've been using the Dunlop Ultex 1.0 for a number of years now. They sound nice and I can play ok with them. The Cool picks sound a bit fatter and are a bit faster-feeling.

How do they compare to the red jazz IIIs in terms of stiffness? I'm also interested in the new EJ picks, they're made like old jazz IIIs with different plastic, apparently a little more flexible

They come in 1.00mm (thinner than the Jazz III), 1.20mm (about the same thickness as the Jazz III), and 1.50mm (thicker than the Jazz III).

Thickness doesn't always correlate to stiffness though. I love reds but find blacks unusable, and they're both 1.38 mm

Which exact one Vlad...I noticed there are a lot of different cool picks.

Funny how much we can spend on expensive gear and pedals, but finding the right feeling 70 cent pick can make such a world of difference too. ;)
