Hi everyone, great forum. I just bought my first Diezel, einstein 100 with 2 212 cabs. Love it and I have have several other amps including Bogner XTC, Mesa Roadster, Rack rig w/triax and simul 395, Mesa Stilletto Ace and to be honest the Einstein crushed them all, the hamonics are so nice and sweet and it has none of that grating top end but doesn't lack any high end either. Kudos to Mr. Diezel for a significant step up in guitar amp tone yet still tied to tradition. I tried the Herbert but for me I liked the Einstein a little better as the tome seems a bit more organic.

I do have a couple of questions: I have a very early Einstein serial number 003/008, was wondering what if any changes may have occured throughout production or are there any updates I should have done?

Also, I have a intermittent low frequency rumble or such, not really a hum but sometimes sounds like a motor boat that comes and goes and is independant of the channel volumes or the master volumes. Tubes check out OK ...might anyone have an idea as to what this might be?

Last question is on the master volumes, if I have master 1 set at say 10 oclock and I put master 2 at 10 oclock master 2 is significantly quieter in volume, I would need to run it at say 1 oclock for the volumes to be the same. This seems counter intuitive as I would tend to use master 2 for leads. Why are the controls so different? Any thoughts here?

Thanks in advance for any help and I look forward to your responses. Thanks :)

Hello RG and thanks for the kind words !

The newer models have a bit more bass amount.

Please check the 22µ/500V caps inside the amp.
They can cause the rumble.

The pots have tolerance, please don´t worry
about the settings.

Hi Peter, thanks for the response. I didn't expect the first response to be from you but that is keeping with what I've seen on this site. Really great to find another manufacturer that is there for you as a customer (John Suhr is another excellent guy with great customer service instincts, Scott Ball of Ernie Ball is not!-long story).

The caps you are speaking of, are these the larger caps I see others having issues with the electrolite seeping out of the ends? I'll check them out. The sound is a low frequency putt putt putt sort of thing. Seems a lot of these are going bad prematurely. Maybe a bad batch?

My issue with the master volumes is that master one is lso much louder than master two, in other words if I have master one set at 2-3 oclock, master 2 maxed out is the same volume so I have no where to go for my lead/soloing volume. Why would this be designed this way? Seems more than just a potentiometer production variance since the difference is pretty substancial. Just wondering. Thanks again for the great feedback and assistance.

It's pretty normal to manufacture pots within +/- 20% tolerances so the differences can be pretty brutal between two individual pots that should have the same value so worst case you'll have one pot with 1.5 times the resistance of the other. Then again, I don't know what Diezel use in their amps, this is just a general case.
