Hmmm...slaving a Diezel?

Hey...a question. I'm a prospective Diezel owner, but I am in a touring band and need to figure out a whole lot of stage logistics stuff before finalizing my purchase. Here's my (kinda weird) situation:

Currently, I run 2 seperate amps (out of a separate 4x12 each). I run my guitar into a Radial signal splitter....and from there, to the two amps, which I always play simultaneously.

However, I also run a Boss Loop Station pedal in between the splitter and ONE of the amps. This way, I can build loops on the pedal during a live performance but then use the selector switch so that I have two totally different guitar parts coming out of two different amps -- and thus being mixed totally seperately at the sound board. That way, there's no overlap between the guitar parts. Anyone who's tried to loop a super-distorted guitar on one amp knows the problems in clarity you have!

This has become an integral part of my show. HOWEVER, if I get a Diezel, I think I will want to just use that amp singly and get rid of the two-amp setup. I need to find a way to still do my looping stuff, so I need to be able to run the Diezel to two cabs with the option of switching one "on" or "off" at choice moments...so that it can solely be receiving a signal from the Loop pedal.

I'm aware of the concept of amp "slaving" but not entirely sure how it works. Tell me this: if I ran a line OUT of the Diezel, into my Radial, and into a seperate power amp, could I run that signal INTO a separate cab, thus "simulating" the two-amp setup where I am able to turn one on-and-off via my Radial selector switch? Do the Herbert and VH4 have a pre-amp line out to begin with?

Sorry if this is far too convoluted and confusing...I'm confusing myself, even!

Thats not possible since the load changes when you switch one speaker/pair of speakers/cab off. It would cause at least extremely fast tube wear or even harm the output transformer.

But what, if you put that looper into the parallel loop and work with that?

I see...so the Diezel amps don't have a dry, non-powered "line-out" signal in the back?

Also, can you expand on the possibility of the parallel loop? Is there some way I could have that affect only *one* of the two cabs I was running the amp to? See what I'm saying?

:aww: I'm such a newbie! :P Thanks for the help.

i think radial makes a splitter specifically for cabs ...so get that instead of the one for switching heads...then you can do what you're talking about

No joke? Hmmm...

But if so, wouldn't I be splitting the signal via 1/4" SPEAKER cables in between the amp and cab? If I'm going to be using a looper, I'd want to have it come BEFORE the amp and not after it...

Thank you for help and suggestions, everyone!

How about VH4S (=stereo) and the BOSS Loop Station in another of the loops?

The loops in VH4S are individual and thus have separate output stages and speaker outs, etc.

Or by two or more amp heads and act like a rock star!
