Hi all! Just thought i'd share my experience with you guys....I have had a vh4, sold it, bought it, sold it, bought it and now i refuse to let go of it! but i've always been intrigued by modeling, rooting from my inability to play too loud because of unappreciative neighbors! well, today that changed!

I have been playing an axe 2, using diezel, bogner, vox models to play with my band at rehearsal. It sounded good, but just never sounded great. I moved in my d-moll and 4x12 rear loaded v30 diezel cab, and holy shit, it roared. the bassist looked at me and said "never bring anything else here!" awesome! now what to do with the axe! such a shame to use it just for fx.....

thanks peter! now the question of whether keep my vh4 or sell it and get a herbie :-) or all 3!

Killer man.....I keep saying my next amp will be another VH4....but after reading reviews on the D-Moll like this....
Guess it always is a WIN/WIN right?

for now keeping it all but might experiment with a g major 2 as my effects unit. i have a kemper which is great for home and is much quicker to set up....obviously a little less versatility than the axe 2 but short latency to good tone!

vh4 is unbelievable...i highly recommend peter's recommended tubes....completly changed the dynamics of the amp and all four channels are great, esp ch1,3 and 4!

i guess i should remove my d-moll from the classifieds!

I just wanted to say that I use a G major 2 with my VH4 and it works great!

I love my vh4, ive been playing it almost everyday since i got it and its became one of my favorite amps.

I was in the Same Exact Boat.
I bought a D-Moll with a Front Loaded 4x12 to run my Axe2 into, I decided to offload my Axe2 and MFC as it seemed a shame to have $3000 for FX.
I still have my other Axe2 that my Rhythm Guitarist / Singer uses that I use for some recordings.

Now my Singers Guitar sounds quite weak next to mine.
For sometime I was thinking the Axe2 was cutting it live, then I bough the Amp with the Idea of using it just as On Stage Monitoring with my FRFR, in the End I finished with a Half Stack and a Small Pedalboard and have not looked back.

Holy Molly indeed !!! And it's true for all Diezels I think. I just got a vh4s and started playin it. It sounded soo awesome and that was at bedroom levels. And it got better and better and better as I turned the volume up that I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It gets to such a level that while I'm sitting in my living room or outside somewhere all I think of is that I wanna play it. You simply get addicted to the tone !!!!

I have a Holy Moll-y too rocking the home studio but I am totally jalous of your VH4s.

Really thought VH4 does not sound the best at bedroom levels, and you need to crank it to unleash the beast... How come yours is so good at low volume ???
Could it be VH4s sounding better at low volume than the VH4 ?

No idea, but I really like it. Maybe coz it's a newer model, I don't know. But of course I have to dial it a bit differently on lower volumes.
