Yo fellers,

So maybe last month, i had posted a thread asking for advice on a broken Einstein footswitch. Terry gladly picked up the ball and hooked it up, even remembering my plight after undertaking some sort of road-job. He sent me a solid new footswitch, under warranty, which i had received earlier this week.

Now i wont be using that flimsy Vox footswitch anymore! Obviously, i'll be a bit more meticulous about wrapping the cable up from here on out (over/under technique - treat your cables right!), and i even have some sweet velcro-ties for all my cabling to keep them neatly coiled. Needless to say, there is one on the footswitch's cable.

Still one question remains (i dont mean to nitpick, but), to avoid this problem, why not just have a 1/4'' TRS IN on the footswitch instead of hardwiring the cable?
- there would be no weakening of the cable at the entry point,
- one can choose the length of cable needed on their own, which in turn would make for a neater set-up
- given the event of the cable going bad, one would only need to replace the 1/4'' TRS instead of having to get a whole new pedal, or having to perform surgery.
- It would save Diezel $$$ to boot!

it only makes sense, unless im missing something - possibly the reason is to power the blinding blue LEDs? then again, the Vox switch i was using had the 1/4'' TRS in, and the LEDs would still be powered.

anyway, enough of my bitching.
in summation:
Diezel family - thank you for treating me so well. I have never been so satisfied with a product in my quest for the sound i hear in my head - i mean guitar tone, no voices, lol.

i've said it to everyone i meet that asks about the amp - It's the one piece of gear that I have NO qualms about. I'm the type to obsess over something before purchasing. Not just in the way that i would lie awake and think about it at night, but I'd do my research thoroughly in the weeks leading up to the acquisition. Even after such attention to detail, there have been pieces bought that I'd be content with, but there would always be that 'well, theres _____ that could really be improved upon'. The Einstein (as well as the VH4 that I chose for my recording studio) delivers in spades, diamonds and hearts. Seriously, everyone that records w/us is blown away by your creations, Peter. There are sessions upon sessions on our hard drives in which the VH4 is the only amp used. We hear the word 'SICK' more often than a school nurse cuz of your amps   .

anyway, another glowing testimonial from a guy trying to make it out in the field.
Marc David Chapman.

I haven't been a Diezel owner long (hell, my Diezel is still in transit from its prior owner) but I shot Terry a couple of questions via email and he replied immediately.

That's 5/5 stars right there, sir.

Well, thank you guys for the kind words. I appreciate them very much. I know we all do our best to help everybody as quickly as we possibly can. We are such a small company that sometimes we get busy and miss things from time to time but we all truly do our best. We appreciate the fact that you appreciate our efforts and our products. From all of us at Diezel, we appreciate YOU!

It still amazes me that they can cover most of the western world (and some of the rest) with such a tiny workforce.

Kudos guys.

All this being said, can anyone suggest which foot switch is a good replacement for Einstein's master/channel swith?

I would like to get one with led indicators and I want to make sure I get it right.

What is wrong with the standard one?

+1 on the service!!

As far as the switch goes: original switch failed me a couple of times. Always trouble with the cable that is hardwired to the switch. That, and in some cases the cable was too short. I gig regularly and, honestly, the cable on the footswitch is the only weak link in my setup. IMO a lot of amps have the same problem. Friend of mine plays a Bogner XTC; switch is too small and the cable on it is terrible. And don't even start about Marshall.....

I recently planted a Orange footswitch (with led ;)) on my board, which will take any instrument cable I can find. Ofcourse, I could have modded the original switch, but I am not a tech. Nor do I know how to use a soldering iron... ;) Anyway. This works perfect for me. Would love it if Diezel did the same for their switch, though.

This is the one (we discussed through PM) which caused Einstein to go into a huge buzzzzzz mode just after channel switching and I'm hoping it's just the switch. After I run and turn off the amp cause it sounds like it's gonna blow, let it sit for a bit, it turns on back to normal. After unplugging the switch the amp works fine. I still have the original switch (2005), but don't dare to plug it in again. :scared: This happened more than once.

I took my original Einstein footswith apart and added a stereo female jack to it to solve this problem. Worked like a charm and easy to do

That's an excellent idea, it gives me the idea to replace all the buttons in my pedal and maybe that will correct my issue.
