Yo fellers,
So maybe last month, i had posted a thread asking for advice on a broken Einstein footswitch. Terry gladly picked up the ball and hooked it up, even remembering my plight after undertaking some sort of road-job. He sent me a solid new footswitch, under warranty, which i had received earlier this week.
Now i wont be using that flimsy Vox footswitch anymore! Obviously, i'll be a bit more meticulous about wrapping the cable up from here on out (over/under technique - treat your cables right!), and i even have some sweet velcro-ties for all my cabling to keep them neatly coiled. Needless to say, there is one on the footswitch's cable.
Still one question remains (i dont mean to nitpick, but), to avoid this problem, why not just have a 1/4'' TRS IN on the footswitch instead of hardwiring the cable?
- there would be no weakening of the cable at the entry point,
- one can choose the length of cable needed on their own, which in turn would make for a neater set-up
- given the event of the cable going bad, one would only need to replace the 1/4'' TRS instead of having to get a whole new pedal, or having to perform surgery.
- It would save Diezel $$$ to boot!
it only makes sense, unless im missing something - possibly the reason is to power the blinding blue LEDs? then again, the Vox switch i was using had the 1/4'' TRS in, and the LEDs would still be powered.
anyway, enough of my bitching.
in summation:
Diezel family - thank you for treating me so well. I have never been so satisfied with a product in my quest for the sound i hear in my head - i mean guitar tone, no voices, lol.
i've said it to everyone i meet that asks about the amp - It's the one piece of gear that I have NO qualms about. I'm the type to obsess over something before purchasing. Not just in the way that i would lie awake and think about it at night, but I'd do my research thoroughly in the weeks leading up to the acquisition. Even after such attention to detail, there have been pieces bought that I'd be content with, but there would always be that 'well, theres _____ that could really be improved upon'. The Einstein (as well as the VH4 that I chose for my recording studio) delivers in spades, diamonds and hearts. Seriously, everyone that records w/us is blown away by your creations, Peter. There are sessions upon sessions on our hard drives in which the VH4 is the only amp used. We hear the word 'SICK' more often than a school nurse cuz of your amps .
anyway, another glowing testimonial from a guy trying to make it out in the field.
