How do I do this? Phone Clips

Hey RT!

Please be kind to me.

I keep seeing people say they can get decent 'in room' phone clips of amps.

The couple I took made the phone sound like it wants to explode...I think. What are you guys using to upload clips? I guess I have never paid attention.

I guess I could always upload.tomdeive.and.share the link(s) here?

Any tips??

I put the phone out front about 6-8’ from the cabinet and slightly off to the side. I usually record at stage volume. You might need to experiment on placement a bit.

Ohhh fuck this is a rabbit hole bro. You can upload to YouTube but I had to use clipchamp for that. Or you can upload to a hosting service and then link to it. I recently got set up to record and am using reaper for my recording program… or daw as the cool kids call it. I also have an interface also. Can you upload directly from your phone though?

I just actually recorded a phone video today and while in the room it was glorious… on the phone the volume cut when i started playing… I guess the phone was trying to tell me something I guess…. While I was speaking and describing my setup everything was fine… volume was up there so it probably overloaded the mic….

Can you upload directly from your phone though?

The clips I had were a minute long and were deemed too large. Maybe a 30 sec clip would do it. I'll probably just upload to drive and drop links then. I wanted to do an impromptu phone recording for fun because I see them a lot on here but alas...thwarted.

I'll try shorter clips or links then.
