How do you fix a string coming out of the saddle?

With some heavy palm muting, my 6th string pops out of the saddle from time to time. Is that fix as simple as notching the saddle more?

From this

to this

G hasn't had a setup since I've owned it and I'll eventually get there, but I'm just curious as to what the process for this is. Thanks.

Not sure it's in the notch in the first pic.

Cutting the notch deeper should fix it, though you'd want to cut them all deeper and raise the bridge to keep the action consistent.

Increasing the down pressure could help too, but it doesn't look like that's possible with whatever bridge you have. But if it's a bolt on, a shim to increase the neck angle could do that.

What even is that tailpiece? Can you post a pic of the whole thing?

It looks like it's so far back from the bridge that this is almost destined to happen (due to too shallow break angle)

I'm not convinced it's in the saddle either lol. In fact, there's hardly a notch there which is why I thought that notching it further would be a potential fix. It moves so easily.

I think it's the same style tremolo as the Duesenbergs.

Another pic:

It's a Walsh Bethel Deluxe. I like boomer Gs lol.

That's wild; never seen one of those.

Notching the saddles more is probably about your only option, besides raising the bridge so high that the guitar plays like hell lol

I've never used one of these myself so take it with a grain of salt but by the way it looks at least these Babicz bridges could be an option.....seems like it would be much harder to knock a string out of one but idk

@Devin That reminds me a bit of the Mastery roller I have on this notacaster.

I really like the tune-o-matic bridge. I feel right at home with it. I'll try notching the saddles and see how far it gets me with keeping the fucking string in place. Thanks for your help.

Yep your guitar's setup instantly reminded me of a jaguar/jazzmaster setup which is commonly plagued with the same problem. Good luck with it man!

This is why I go roller bridge. No dicking around with saddles incorrectly or poorly cut, consistency, and string alignment. Not to mention tuning stability.
