How does Mono/Stereo cab wiring work?

Easiest way is two jacks and a switch

Wire the two stereo loads to each jack then the swithc in parallel across the two jacks..when the switch is "on" the two jacks are connected and it's mono from either jack....when the switch is off, it's stereo using both jacks

Of course, the mono load is half the stereo load wired this way...so two 16Ohm loads in Stereo are 1 8Ohm load in Mono.

I guess you could also get one of those fancy/schmancy jacks that as the open/close switch built in so that when you plug into the 2nd/stereo jack, it automatically breaks open the mono wiring.

I`m going this route myself:

So the way I understand it if I hook up 1 speaker to each side I can just connect my amp to the right input & use the right speaker only or connect a (dummy) cable to the right input & the amp on the left input & use the left speaker only or connect just to the mono input & have them both in parallel. Am I right?

So right now if I hook up my EVM12L to the right input & leave the other with no speaker connected I'll be fine?
