For all the amp historians we have here, curious how many top level flavors of amps there are. Meaning, how would we classify them under the original they were derived from if we had to. What are the originals?

For example, this may be the top of the tree (or bottom roots if you want to look at it that way)
Bassman (maybe all of them derived from here?)
Marshall Plexi
Marshall JCM
Mark series
Fender cleans
etc...

Not a full list, but hopefully you get the idea.
Note: There is another thread asking what to buy that's not a Marshall variant and I started to ask there, but didn't want to hijack his thread.

I can tell the difference between Marshall grind, think Slayer, and a C+ tone, Master of Puppets.

Dumbles sound like what a shitty megaphone would sound like, mid focused to the point of obnoxiousness.

The Diesel VH4 is kinda unique in it's dark tone.

Roland Jazz chorus in unique.

Dimebag and his SS gear can be as fizzy as it gets. So fizzy, sometimes I need pepto-bismal.

Rectifiers when played by KORN, SOAD, Linken Park, etc., yeah I can hear them, they are brutal.

Fender clean, in real life in a room, mind explodes, just like 1972 and earlier Marshalls. Nothing but goosebumps when you play a cranked no master volume Marshall 100 SL.
