Okay...I have a 5150 3 LBX, amazing tone. I have found that if I run the guitar directly to the fx return I get a nice clean tone.

So what I would like to do is to have an A B switch where in the A position it would route my guitar to the amp input. In position B I would like to run the guitar to the FX Loop return.

This is the part where Im struggling... I would like to keep using my effects in the FX Loop...but the return jack is already being used to get the clean tone. I would also like the effects to work in the FX Loop for each configuration.

I also need some sort of volume control (with eq would be nice) for the "Clean" channel.

Any ideas what I need to pull this off? Obviously cost is i a serious consideration.

Thanks!
Ron

One way to do it, would be to buy a switcher like the rjm fx gizmo. Very versatile ins and outs controlled thru midi. Another way, would be to run something like a bb preamp or the ep booster on the clean channel to make it sound nice.

If you get something like the rocktron loop 8 patchmate you can route your amp like two units. The first unit is the preamp and the second unit is the bower amp...

My EVH 3 LBX is the same way, blue channel not really clean,I never have heard or thought of running the guitars cable into the amps fx return jack.If I mess my LBX up there is not a certified or confident tech anywhere around me.I will follow this post to see how it goes.
