How versatile is the CCV?

It seems like all of the clips I hear from this amp are pretty heavy. Can this amp do the mid gain thing? or does it always come off as heavy? I don't know anything about these amps. Is this a 2 channel amp? How are the cleans? Does it come with a footswitch?

It does great cleans and mid-gain tones. Each of the two channels has 3 position gain style switches to get various tones. Channel 2 has a solo option that you can get the effect of a third switchable channel. The foot switch is for channel and solo boost. Not sure if the new production ones with the metro loops will have a switchable loop or not.
