How's the Straub Cantus?

It's a good sounding Marshall type amp. Really needs to be cranked to breath. I found the one at Cliffs last year to be very JMP like...
Good amp, just not mind blowing.

KILLER hot-rodded plexi tone. I sold mine last month to raise money for our new house and will definitely get another one once the dust settles. Think of a smoother, more balanced JCM800 (no harsh highs). Sounds great without a pedal for any classic rock tones and takes boosts very well too.

Yeah...it really did suck. Like Steve said, it needs to be opened up a bit to sound good and I don't get to play much at loud volumes these days. My Makoplex and MKIV both kill at lower volumes, so it made sense to keep them. We compared the Straub to the Purplexi a few months back and I liked the Straub a lot more. It sounded pretty damn close to Vlad's superlead...
