How's these vocals...

I know this is an amp forum but I need an opinion on this singer from some people. You may recognize the bridge on this jam as it's the one I've been using multipul times to get my micing down. Don't mind the playing or guitar sound as it was thrown together real quick so we could see how she sounded on recording, and it's definitely sloppy...unlike most who say that I mean it, I just showed the harmony to the bridge lead to our other guitar player like just right before we hit record.

To me it's kinda hard to judge the vocals without hearing the full mix but from what I hear I think the vocals should be more powerful. It sounds a bit dull to my ears.

Not the production of the vocal the vocal ability of this girl, we're trying her out. Is it a good fit for the music and sound good and so on.

I'm sorry, but her voice annoys me. The harmonies are much too louder than the rest .

Keep in mind I have hard time with female singing...

I think for the most part yeah she's on pitch, I'm not a the biggest fan of female vocals either tbh, which is why I'm on the fence, with some work I think she might have some potential maybe. Got to keep in mind I'm not an ace engineer either with the harmony thing haha. Kinda why I needed some opinions on it, there's not much to choose from in St.Louis unfortunately ya know. Thanks about the music btw.

Her voice sounds fine, that said I wouldn't take her as a part of your band, it doesn't feel like she's into the music you play, she seems like one of those musicians that don't feel the music & that's something that almost never gets fixed.

I do like your song though! Great ides, not good performance. If that's you playing the guitar, you should work some on yourself too. You need to get rid of the sloppiness in your playing & I would recommend recording a lot to achieve this. You are not that far, so no reason to be upset, you just need to make that step from an amateur to a professional & I'm sure you will.

I'm not that sloppy normally ...trust me :lol: :LOL: . We had to get this recorded in about 20 minutes including her parts and I just got done teaching the other guitar player the other parts(like this was the second time he played them ever), we put mics on the cab and got the basic idea down, and did not succeed in doing it gracefully... :lol: :LOL: . I'm not the best guitarist ever but I know I'm not sloppy by any means... my other guitar player, kinda :lol: :LOL: , just kiddin'. So please don't judge by that recording.

I'll say this much about her, she is into it for sure and excited about it. She's never done any recording so I noticed it makes here hold back a little, except when she did the harmonies, she was singing with something and I think it made it a little more familiar to her. We're considering having her sing with this other guy we haven't tried out yet that I know is a great singer, really kinda if he wants in he's in sort of thing. I think it'd be neat to have a female and male interaction thing going on, I do like when bands do that, helps sometimes to bring the story of the lyrics foward in a great way.
