I'm working on my super strat and the stock Rosewell a5 single-coils are too bright and don't have enough output. they're all less than 6k. Right now It has a Seymour Duncan custom in the bridge, but I might swap it for a Mighty Mite 1400 I have. I'm planning on adding a James Tyler mid-boost (I Think I have the right schematic for it), and some series/parallel/split switches. My first two choices are the Duncan hot stack bridges (Dan Huff-esque) or the Suhr ML/v63+, but I've also seen the Duncan classic stacks and vintage hot stacks used or even recently I saw one with a Hot chicken in the middle in the Tyler guitars and wondered if those might work better. I'm looking to get that 80s clean tone, but also do a glassy edge of breakup tone like SRV.
