Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister Deluxe 40

I've had the Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister Deluxe 40 for a couple of years now. I got it used off someone who hadn't used it a whole lot. It's just a great amp! It's capable of so many great tones with the 4 channels, the built in boost, the effects, the gate, the presence and resonance controls etc. So anytime someone asks me what the best all-round amp is, the GMD40 definitely is the one that I mention the most!

So since I've had this amp for a couple of years now I thought I would be fun to make a little video showcasing some of my favorite tones that this amp has to offer, of course also including some high gain tones!



I love this thing and I will keep recommending it to people who want something that "does it all" in a small package but with plenty of power. It also looks really cool imho Who else has a H&K?

I've had this amp but sold it because I couldn't dial out it's inherent grainyness it has no matter what. I can hear the grainyness in your clips even in the mix.

But the amp is so beautiful and feature packed, that I wanted to try it again, so this time I got the BlaclSpirit 200. And I believe the Ultra channel sounds a tad better on it actually. So I kept it. These amps may benefit from a TS style boost but no matter what the grainyness will always be there. I'll just live with it.

I would love to blend this sound with a 5150 and see how that sounds. I plan to mess around with that for my bands next album

Nice video. Like a lot of the amp comparisons you demo. Good content.

As for the H&K sounds okay. None of the sounds really jump out and impress. On that note the Orange Rockervrb II video you did recently caught my attention. I was really surprised by the tone. It is excellent. Never heard that amp. Thanks to you it’s on my bucket list.
