I finally could record with my Herbert!

after 2 years owning and loving my amp - we finally hit the studio and i could use the Herbert in a recording situation. :rock:

Please some more details: What cabs, what mics?

Guitars were:

Ibanez 7420 (Dimarzio Blaze equipped)
Jackson COW7 (EMG81-7)

Amp is almost 100% pure Herbert (there is also 1 track with a Laboga Mr Hector), and the cabs were (for the main tracks) a Krank Revolution 412 (Eminence Legends), and we also have 1 track with an old Diezel Frontloaded 412 (dont know which speakers, but maybe Peter can shed some light - its the old cab of the guitarrist of Christina Stürmer, Saltnpepper grill).

Mics for the main tracks are SM57 and Sennheiser E906. There were 2 other mics also used, but i have to ask our tech which ones that were...one was also a Sennheiser, but i dont know which one - will bring this info later! :rock:
 
Wicked man! Some of the best tones I have heard recorded with a Herbert! :rock:

What tubes are you running in your Herbie?

i'm running a full sextett of SED ~C~ 6550 in the power amp, and in the preamp i still have the stock tubes from when i bought it ~2 years ago, these are TAD.

on the weekend, i will put the original file up for download - because the myspace player still sucks quality and makes it a bit "flat" sounding. the original file sounds a bit more "open" to my ears.
 
Reminds me of late '80's Napalm Death and Carcass combined with Suffication and Anaal Nathrakh. All bands I love very much :rock: GREAT STUFF and GREAT SOUND :yes: :thumbsup: :D :rock:
