I fucked up an expensive pedal last night, how fix?

I have a Diamond Halo Chorus pedal, which is internally regulated to run at 15v, but comes with its own power supply. The power supply is center-positive and I foolishly attempted to use a center-negative cable. (I have a fucking center-positive cable for my Cioks, but I just forgot the pedal required it).

I sent an email to Diamond, but I expect a charge and they're in Canada.

How would I go about troubleshooting and attempting to fix?
Does anyone know any Chicago-area pedal repair spots?

Did you burn out the power supply or the pedal?

I think the pedal. Let me know if I'm thinking about this incorrectly:
When it worked previously, it'd light up green and orange with the power supply plugged in, even bypassed.
Now, it doesn't have a light when I plug in the power supply. When I activate the pedal, the LED changes to red. This is true for both using the OEM power supply and the Cioks DC7 (WITH A FUCKING CENTER-POSITIVE CABLE) at 18v.

Does the unit work when plugged in with the correct supply despite the light not?

Does the “wrong” power supply still work with other pedals?

No. I get a guitar signal when the pedal is bypassed, but activating the pedal (red LED) just passes a faint white noise sound.

I don't have any other center-positive pedals, so I can't test that exact outlet and cable, but yeah, that particular outlet on my Cioks DC7 with a center negative cable powering a 9v pedal works just fine.

You’re gonna need to take it to a tech.

Yeah, I kinda figured.
I emailed Diamond but would maybe love to find someone to repair it here in Chicago.

Isolating where the damage (if any) occurred and in which unit seems paramount. I’ve too have personally mixed up power supply’s and fried many a device, so I feel ya.
