First post here in this forum. Thanks for the warm welcome :D

Attached is the guitar I just bought from our Canadian distributor. Did I do the right thing?? I'm a Lester guy but wanted a Strat like guitar for some bluesy tones and bends. It's got SS frets, curled maple top, solid maple neck and fingerboard, and a pearloid pick guard. Seems alright. I've heard the pups are weak on these guitars, as are the stock trems - your thoughts?? I was originally eyeballing a SSS set up, but this one's coming with HSH, and worse case scenario, I can coil split them up to get into single mode... I guess it's best just to wait and see.

If you followed any of my other posts, I'm the guy that wanted a Fender Strat without the Fender... There's something wrong with me and Fenders, they don't fit right, feel good, or play in my hands. I'm hoping Suhr does the trick.

Peace Y'All....
V.

Tough audience

V,

Never understood why the Suhr audience is so silent, maybe because it's such a great product, and there too busy playing.

I've owned a Modern for a year and half and it is my favorite guitar.

You won't be disappointed!

Well, kinda like the Diezel versus Bogner forums... Seems to be WAY more chitter-chatter with Diezelheads than Bognerites. I own both, and it was an observation I made a few months back. My assumption was the same as yours, too much fun playing and not rock-star-jacking at the keyboard.

Thanks for the words of encouragement with the upcoming ax, oughta be fun for sure :D

I can't get on with Strats either....and while I'm still not as comfortable on this scale as the LP scale...the Suhrs I've owned have been head and shoulders far above the Stratocaster in terms of feel and playability.

The S4 is a great instrument and I love that colour too...especially with the maple board!

Thanx JKD, I'll post pics when she arrives early next week - that is - AFTER I've had some serious one on one time with 'er.

Peace,
V.

PS - ya, the curled maple seemed to pop when I saw it in the pics, and the perloid pick guard all add up to having quite the mojo... I just hope she plays as well as I've been told she'll play. My distributor told me I'd love it - and he knows my gear taste - so we'll see...
