I knew I wouldn't reach the age of 60 before committing my first murder....

Doctor Love
Have you ever left a tube amp on for over three weeks? I have. I did it with my Fender Blues Jr and you can probably guess what happened. Adios. But have no fear, armed with my community college electronics degree, I'm going to pull this dead amp apart and see if I can figure out how to fix it. They cost $800 new so this was a pretty expensive, boneheaded move to make.
Wish me luck and tune in to see if it can be saved.

I love the videos you post. I am in the process of making a series of different shit. If I can get my ADHD under control to actually focus on one thing, I may actually get one completed some day.

On my first trip to Hawaii a few yrs back I had this nagging feeling I left one of my amps on. Yep; a particularly great sounding 1982 2204. But on standby. Came back and thankfully the house was not burned to the ground, and the amp was still working on standby.
Lesson learned.

Believe me, i thought about it, and i'm only 40.

What you committed was mansl....ampslaughter. It's bad, but it wasnt premeditated, so you won't get frowned upon too bad. It wasn't your fault... Well it kinda was, but you can sleep soundly knowing you didn't do it on purpose, right?

What I do, is I always get in the habit of unplugging my amps after they're used, so no bonehead things can happen like what you described. Plus, you don't have to worry about power surges with it unplugged.

Tube equipment used to run non-stop for years. You could play a raido thru your tube amp 24/7 at a moderate volume and it could go for weeks.

I saw a little dusty Gibson GA10 amp buried behind a bunch of bigger amps in a music store, late 90s. Those amps had a weird 3-way OFF/SB/ON switch on the bottom of the back and it was easy to confuse OFF with ON. I asked them if I could play it, it took a few minutes to get to it. It was ON and hot af! Tubes were almost all silver flashing on the glass.

Bought it cheap, new tubes and it got played/gigged a lot over the next few years with zero issues. But then I sold it on Reverb and it smoked a power supply resistor and melted/charred the board as soon as he turned it ON.

Great news, and best case scenario for the issue.

Just your amps way of saying that it needed a little "refresh", and a way to force a little more religion into your life (several silent prayers). :ROFLMAO:
Why force religion into his life? He's going to hell. He commited murder, that's the worst sin a man can commit. He may as well praise the dark lord satan now and hope that satan goes easy on him because of all of his praise. Quick, put on some Slayer! "Altar Of Sacfrifice" is a good one, sing along ""ENTER TO THE REALM OF SATAN" and "Praise Hail Satan".

I had to reflow the solder on all the tube sockets on my Jr. If you get a popping and crackling just wiggle a tube.
