i have rear loaded v 30s (I LOVE IT!), thinking bout a front loaded 75 watt eminence diezel loaded cab to go with it....
question, do i go rear or front loaded? and whats the big difference sonicallybetween 75 watt speakers and v 30s? i would like a smoother sounding cab to go with my v 30's so is this the way to go? or do i just get another rear loaded v 30? i play ALOT of leads if that helps you guys out on the application.

some advice from the master wouldnt be a bad thing either ;)

thanks fellas
Andy

Well, I have been called a "Master" but that's another story. The Diezel speakers are great but not smooth. If anything they are much more aggressive than the V30s. A friend of mine just this week got a 1x15 cab to go with his Herbert and V30 4x12 set up and loves it. It added a ton of bigness and warmth. Good luck...

thanks, i played my rig through a custom cab here in town and it sounded amazing. the cab was very simple just a front loaded cab with 75 watt eminence speakers in it, are these the same as the diezel speakers? or are they a different speaker?

74 views and only one person's advice? come on guys help a brotha out

If you want to choose a cab, you will probably need to take your new Einstein head around town to try out different combination.

I prefer rear-loaded cabs as they are not as sonically focused in a beam-like manner as the front-loaded cabs are.

As for speakers, that is a whole 'nother matter. It becomes a matter of how you play your amp, at what volume, what speakers will hold up to your playing style, and how well the cab will perform as well.

Some players have said they like Orange cabs. I personally feel that a Diezel cab will probably work the best. As for what speaker you want, however, some folks have mixed and matched with great results, like mixing G12-H's with V30's.

I would not rush into anything until I tried out various combinations in different cabs. You may be surprised what actually winds up sounding the best to you.

maybe i havent been too clear, i already have a herbert and will be using the second cab with it for my hired gun and session work gigs. the einstien is diezel number 2 for me and im gonna use the v 30's for it. i was just wondering if anyone had used the custom diezel speakers in a direct comparison, noel at tone merchants thought they sounded smoother than the v 30's. anyone else's thoughts would be great!

They have definitely less biting mids like V30s. Depending where you are coming this might be a plus or minus.

My 2x12" came with them and I was missing some of those typical V30s bite so I replaced them and put them into my 1960A and mixed them with the stock G75T, which sounds awesome. Treble and Bass from the G75Ts and the Mids from the Eminence.

thanks, so am i correct to think that the custom diezel speakers will be the smoothest sounding speaker choice? im looking for a silkiness to the overdrive that the v 30's dont have, any other thoughts would be great as well!

I play my VH4 on a 4x12 marshall cabinet loaded with G12-H65. I think this was the right cabinet for you. The problem is, how to find one? Anyway, if you ve got the chance, check it out.

Cheers Otto

thanks chilli, is yours an old original marshall cab? could i get similar results in dropping those speakers into a diezel cab? noel at tone merchants kinda has my gears turning on the custom diezel eminence speaker rear loaded, anyone else care to share their wisdom? Peter what dothe custom diezel speakers sound like compared to the v 30s to your ears?

Mine is from the early 80es, I guess. A certain user here a the diezel forum, I dont remember his name, called the celestion G H12-65 a greenback on steroids. I cant tell you if this fits well. Some say the new ones that celestion brings out are not as good as the old ones. Well, thats maybe the usual kind of voodoo crap. What I can tell you is that the G H12-65 doesnt sound harsh or aggressive at all. They sound clear and have the right mix of highs, midds and bottom tones (for me). ;)

That's me, and these speakers with a mix a Vintage 30's are AMAZING together, my mix mind you is a v30 cab and a 65 cab so they aren't in an x-pattern, mine's an old marshall cab too. As far as the greenback on steroids that's what celestion say, I've used greenies at one time too but the 65 are really something of their own. The new 65 probably don't sound as good as the old ones because the old ones are well...........old and worn in.

cool, where could i get some? and would it be worth it to x pattern my current rear loaded cab? im still getting another cab though and i really want to hear the diezel eminence speakers

anybody have the diezel eminence loaded cab? peter did you design this speaker?
