I think this is a better one of even flow. haha I love these

Hard for me to watch these cuz I know EXACTLY what he's singing... So it's weird for me :dunno:

I never liked him due to the fact I could never understand him either....
The band was OK, but nothing special

I love it all up to vitalogy they lost me after that. The remastered ten though has me listening all over again, killer record.

Just saw some live footage of pearljam, guitar solo came up and te lead guitarist took off major outer space Badass solo, then he kicked on some vibe or chorus pedal and went even farther into the raddest solo ever, so much respect..
Kudos.

As mentioned above, I was and am a huge fan... I know all the words because hell, I listened to these guys religiously for years...and to this day, their music still takes me there. Awesome awesome band!!

As a side note, we did refer to this style of singing as "bread" music. Hard to explain, but in Temple Of The Dog's "Hunger Strike", when Vedder sings "I don't mind, stealing bread, from the mouths of decadence...", we just started to exaggerate the BbbrrrrRRReAD style of singing and referred to much of the 'grunge' era's lyrics as "BbbbrrRReeEaaADD" music. I guess ya had to be there.

Whatever, timeless. That's what PJ is to me. Love 'em.
V.

He changes the lyrics around to Yellow Ledbetter all the time. Saw them in Hyde Park, London last summer. They were shit hot....great show. We are covering Evenflow this weekend come to think of it.

Yep, same here. Man, that guitar solo/bridge part in Garden still gives me goosebumps after all these years!

I don't know why they suntan nails. LOL.

This has always been my favourite.

I remember an interview back in the day with Yngwie and they asked him what he thought of the (at the time) 'new bands'. His reply was along the line of the singer from Pearl Jam sings like he has a mouth full of Pearl Jam.....priceless.

Back in the day I also auditioned for the Australian Pearl Jam Tribute Show but thats a story that stays locked in the vault ;)

I was into Pearl Jam at the time because I was late teens and impressionable but now I just remember the whole grunge movement as the music that killed good music. 80's metal had set itself up to be toppled by being to predictable and formula so if it hadn't been grunge it would have been something else. There was some good stuff in the 90's, and a whole lot of shit. Lead guitar playing has never recovered in the mainstream. Somehow it became uncool to know how to play your instrument.
