The Rebel is a much louder amp than it's size indicates. I took mine to rehearsals and my dummer asked where my amp was not seeing the carrying bag behind me. When I showed it to him, he laughed and said there was no way that could be heard over his drums. I said okay, plugged it into a 2X12 loaded with V30's and half way thru the first song he stopped and asked if I could turn it down
Oh yeah My crazy brother is a drummer,in fact he is hitting his drums right now and i can't hear me typing ,and he just couldn't believe his ears/eyes when i played the Rebel for the 1° time !Ok,i'm using it with an old 69'Marshall 4x12.. Still,if you want a real clean sound (gain +/- at 9°)without any pedal in front,it's not that loud at all.But i love to be able to crank the Master and hear the Power tubes cooking !I had an amazing experience yesterday:i plugged an original Gibson LP 53' (conversion)with real PAF's into the Rebel !It was just unbelievable! The pure quality, sheer beauty of the sound, coupled with the total (tonal) control you get ,thanks only to the 2 Vol & 2 Tone !Wow!I couldn't believe the difference with modern guitars! But it also showed me what the Rebel was capable off !
