I pulled the center back panel off of my TM2X12 last night

I swapped one of the E80's for an ET65 and decided to leave the center panel off. What a huge difference in tone!

I expected a slight change but not as big as the one I got. I even put it back on and took it off a few times to compare. With it on, the cab is tight and focused. Sounds great. With it off, it sounded gigantic and just a different great!

I am going to leave it off for a while and see how it goes. I love this cab.

I am liking mine off too.

Mine is off and so is the metal grate that was under the wood. I'm not a fan of closed back cabs.

I definitely like the 4x10 w/ it off a bunch more. So much so, I didn't even keep the back for it!!!

The 2x12s for me are best with them on typically. But...but sound amazing!!! Such a great feature on the Eggie cabs.

I love that I have the option. There are times when I have been recording that I put it back on for a different tone. Live however I much prefer it off just because it seems to fill the area that I'm standing in better. May just be in my head, but that's how I prefer it.

The TM212 has a partially removable back? Fuck I didnt know that, now I gotta go get one!

Heck yes it does.......that's why I've got one on the way!! I plan to take that back strip out right away as well.

Holy crap! This cab is HUGE!! Trying to "sneak" it into the house and up the stairs and about killed myself!! Can't wait to plug it in and rock it out.

Yeah, it's a big damn cab. But it sounds great. And being a taller 212 is nice at a gig, so you don't have to get down on yer knees to adjust something. I'm looking for a smaller sized 2x12 to keep at home and leave the TM212 at my rehearsal space. Looking to have Jesus build one (AB Custom Cabs) - $160 shipped unloaded. Can't beat that for an "at home practice" cab.

Damn, plugged in for a few minutes at low volumes and it sounded great! Pulled the back mid panel off and it really let's the sound get bigger and more "surround".......of course I have the back to a hard drywall wall, so it really bounces off and spreads around. Can't wait until the family is out of the house so I can really crank it up!!

Oh, and the COD is just a sick module man. Not just for single coils........rocks with my VOS/Second Degree Blackbelts big time. Lovin' it.
