NM! I am going to spend some more time with the module, I have gotten some nice tones dialed in last night, but I am waiting for the weekend to play it a little louder than I am able to during the day.. don't want to regret getting rid of a module that I may end up wanting later.

before you ditch that vx, try CH A with some single coils and a good delay.
try about 400 ms with a good number of repeats.
You'll realize why I'll NEVER sell my VX.

CH B, is pretty sweet for doing some more 70's-esque lead stuff.

VX Ch B cranked with some high output PUPs gets right into Foo Fighters territory! Does a mean Brian May if you spike the mids too! Run P90s through it a mid gain, and it is sweet butta. Sometimes I juice it with a clean boost too with great results. It is one of the 3 modules I won't get rid of ever. T/D, SL, VX - those are my 3 staples. I've been rotating through the 4th slot in my M4, haven't decided exactly what will become permanent there - started with EG3/4, SL2, now Erect. Thinking of trading Erect for EG5, but haven't decided....maybe BMAN.

I'll trade you a few month old barely used SL2 for the vox
I thought I would use higher gain stuff but not currently.

please pm me

Sorry I have the SL2 already.. right now in my M4 there is a T/D, VX, SL2 and EG5

I'm going to hold off on trading it for now I guess until I try out what Guitarslinger said.

If you end up not diggin it, ive got a COD that id be willing to trade. Let me know!

Trade it towards my Egnater 2x12 ;)

I could use a Vx module again..that is, assuming I can get my M4 fixed at some point :D

I have found that hitting the VOX with a medium distortion voiced with some good highs and a mild overall gain gets a very unique distortion that seems to fit in between early VH and Bogner territory. It is KILLER for detuned stuff...sort of like the EG5 but growlier. I discovered this by accident because I was jsut assuming the SL would be best for this in my dual MOD 50, but since I have the VX and SL in the second head, I just tried it and was floored at me little discovery. I would have never imagined how ballsey it could be!

I agree. The VX really is the secret weapon of the modular line, IMO. I think it is sometimes overlooked and underrated!

Thats sort of the idea I was having when thinking about applying the lower gain modules to my music. In just about everything but modern rhythms I prefer the more unique texture of a lower gain vibe boosted to a higher gain. Ive been doing this with the Bman and its got me curious as to what else I could pull off with the VX or SL.

I really think one of the secrets to a big big guitar sound is not overdoing it with gain. Conventional wisdom would tend to say the opposite, but when you think about some of the biggest guitar sounds of all time, they are all pretty mid-gain by today's standards....

Wow, you guys are crazy. The COD and the VX are two of my absolute favorite modules. The VX has that beautious (yes, it's a word...at least, now it is) riding-the-edge-of-feedback thing that is oh so cool. Can't get enough. If I didn't already have one, I'd trade you something for it. And if I didn't already have a COD, I'd trade Valtiel something for his COD too. Dang. You guys.

Those things rock!

YES...so true. High volume, but not necessarily high gain.

Haha, actually I love my COD. If I were to trade it I would definitely replace it in the future.
