So I really suck at EQing amps for different sounds. Can any other Einstein owners give me some recomendations for where to start??

It usually takes me a good 6months-a year to find the sweet spots in the EQs.

put everything at noon...except the master volume   . Go from there. thats the best starting point & usually sounds pretty damn good IMO.

I did that, and it sounds killer  I have just found in the past some amps sound amazing with some strange EQ settings. My ENGL E530 sounded great with the High at 7, high mids 3.5, low mids 6, and bass 8  took me forever to find that setting.

Try diming the mids on the dirty channel. It can work really well with some some guitars.

So then stop messing with it   Thats cuz it was a different amp. Each amp reacts differently. But i know the noon settings for the Diezels sound damn good..so with minor tweaking it could only improve depending upon what your ears need more of.

I like diming the mids on the Einy to get it really barking and fat.

I stopped using an Overdrive pedal so in order to stay as tight I have been rolling off my bass to zero, sounds like a bit much but with my port city I still have plenty of bass. I found i like the presence rather than the treble to add cut with this amp, I usually leave the treble at noon.

I only use the deep when playing alone and even then judiciously.

I also dime the channel volumes on the dirty channels.

"Strange settings on the Einy yield great results, in fact I have found that I can move the knobs to any position and the amp still sounds great, just different, no bad sounds in this one.

obviously guitar cabinet and speaker all make a large difference in the results.

Currently I'm using the following settings ( all in o'clock )

Pres and Deep around 1:30 or to taste!

Channel 1 Mode 1. Bass 12:00, Mid 10:30 Treble 10:30, Gain 10:30 and channel vol to taste - very smooth jazzy sound that works great with the 4th position on my Ibanez(Neck TZ, Middle Blue velvet, Neck Paf Pro)

Channel 2 Mode 1 Bass 11:00, Mid just under 12:00, Treble 1:30 ish. Gain anywhere from 11:00-1:00 depending how much compression and saturation im after.

P.S. Those Engl E530 settings are remarkably close to where I was before selling it to get Einy!
