OK, bear with me now. In the article, you guys mention that there are folks who want to buy the amp seminar amps but don't want to sit in on the class. On the other end, there are guys like me who already have a MOD50 and don't need another amp, but would love to sit in on the class just for the experience or to gain some knowledge.

So why not offer the seminar at a cost for just the class, but the amp stays with Egnater for you all to sell to those folks who don't want to take the class but would buy the amp. You all would inspect it, test it, and back it, of course, but it would be a win/win/win. It would save you guys all kinds of time on production, it would allow folks like me to take the class without having to pay the whole enchilada to end up with an amp I don't really need (which is the reason I haven't taken the class yet), and would allow the folks who want the amp without the class to get one knowing it has been built in the Egnater shop and tested and backed by Egnater. I would guess most folks buying wouldn't mind if a class attendee built it, as long as you all OK'd the final product and were willing to stand behind it. And for those who really want one built by you guys, you could still do that...but not all of them have to be that.

What do you think?

I think this is a great idea- It allows more players to get a chance
to be trained by Bruce and build a killer amp and it gives Egnater a
small stock of ready to sell seminar heads that did'nt take up the
hard to find time during the regular business day.....I'd be up for
this idea for sure...........

Sounds like an interesting idea
The only fly in he ointment might be issues over public perception of who made the amp and whether there are any legal issues from selling stuff made in a seminar that would affect it being part of a business plan.

I would think that as long as they made clear that the amps were made by someone in the class (with their inspection and approval, of course), they would be covered.

The only problem is that once you play the thing,it's pretty hard to leave it there :D I tried to sell mine for some unknown reasons and ended up buying back from myself

+1000000. Id love to take the class for the knowledge but cant spend that much on the class and dont need another amp.

I think it'd be really cool if maybe after the amp class they had an extra few hours or the next day had a little lesson about how to design or tweak your own module! Granted it'd void the warranty, but for those of us who want to get started tinkering, that'd be waaay cool. I'd love to go to the seminars but I can't justify the cost of the trip, board etc for an amp I don't use, but if that was an option it'd definitely start saving my change. And in that way, it'd be like getting another amp if you already have a mod :)

If Egnater is hesitant, and maybe rightly so, about giving us a glimps into their specific module layout maybe they can do it based around tinkering with the randall ones?

Although there's no way to possibly absorb all of bruce's full experiences in a few days, I wonder if after attending the amp seminar plus the hypothetical module workshop if that might be able to get you started building your own module that egnater doesn't offer. As they've said in the Premier Guiter interivew, they give you all of the classicl/popular/grail tones in their modules, but aren't trying to go make a module for every amp maker out there (diezel, vht etc). So maybe with this it'd give people who would like to build something themselves a chance to have fun while creating or modding a module to get that those tones.

Maybe I'm just getting carried away with what's reasonable and possible, but I guess it's just that same curiosity Bruce had as a kid :D

To clarify I meant my post purely from an "I want to tinker around with things but I'd rather have more modules than another amp" perspective. It was not AT ALL meant to mean that I think egnater need modifying! Also, I really don't know what I'm talking about since I know ZERO about practical electronic work (My knowledge stops at the physics 102 questions limited to just 2 light bulbs wired in series or parallel   ) so like I said I don't even know if it's even possible/feasable/worth it for them/worth it for the customer.

They did such a good job with the mod50 it doesn't make me want another amp...only more modules!

I have both the seminar and mod 50

I have got to say once you play the seminar head ITS ADDICTIVE.
its just different than the Mod 50.
its like going back to the reason for playing rock guitar in the first place
