Splogner!! Maybe?? Nah, that doesn't sound right at all?? :ROFLMAO:

Anyway

Got a screamin' deal on this Nitro about two years ago. Since I got such a good deal on it, I ended up sending it back to Splawn to have the "Fully Loaded" mods added to it and I also had him switch it over to KT88's while it was there. The only thing I didn't like about it was the blood red tolex. Well.. I saw the Bogner XTC head shell that @John4021 had listed in the Classifieds and my brain started clickin'. Here is the (almost) finished product. I still need to drill the chassis screw holes, and I'd like to take the Bogner logo off and put the Splawn logo on it, but it looks like it might just be glued into the front panel on plastic pegs and I'd hate to tear it up trying to get it off there. Anyone ever removed a Bogner logo that might have some tips?

Hey.
That looks pretty good brother.

Thanks, it took a little finaglin' but it fits really well in there. The Splawn chassis are pretty narrow too, compared to the Bogner. So, there is a little "plumbers crack" showing on the backside.. LOL

Looks awesome man. It certainly will be unique when you are done.

I have no direct experience on how to get a glued on logo off of that covering. Is that like a basket weave tolex or is it plastic or what? The weave part? One idea might be to take the headshell and face it flat down and then slowly and carefully apply a warm iron to basically warm up the glue to release? Crank the heat up as needed? Of a hairdryer.

It's like basket weave, similar to grill cloth. Looking at the back of the front panel I can see the holes that they drilled to mount it, thinking it was held in there by screws. But when I looked closer, I could see the little plastic tabs in the holes. I'm thinking I might be able to take a punch the same size as the holes the tabs are drilled into, and maybe tap it out from the back of the panel. I just don't know what it's going to look like once I've done that. I'm sure there isn't glue just gooped all over the place, but I'd like to know before I do anything.

I wanna see the crack!

Don't hold me to this because I don't know if I still have it but I changed a Splawn 2-12 cabinet over to a Marshall cabinet years ago I think I still have the Splawn logo I will have to look to see if I can find it, if you want to change the logo over and I find it you're more than welcome to have it.

Appreciate that. The original head shell has a logo, but let me know what you want for yours if you find it. That way, if I decide to sell that red shell, the logo can go with it. Thanks!

I'm going to be going through things the next few days to get rid of junk and have a garage sale I will let you know and it's yours free brother.

The colour pattern you got going there between the Tolex, fabric and knobs is pretty cool... And the Tolex pattern is neat too. Nicely done.

For removing the Bogner logo, I would try a heat gun from behind to loosen up the glue. Just keep the heat at a distance so it doesn't mark up or damage the fabric.

Good luck
